おもちゃを色・形のしるし・種類のルールで分けるおかたづけ遊びです。玩具の絵と丸・三角・四角のしるしは、ルールを変えても同じです。3つの部屋、6・9・12個のおもちゃで遊び、27種類のスタンプと6つの飾りを集められます。
まず色などひとつのルールを決め、少ない数から始めます。ルールとおもちゃの数は別々に選べます。
「どうしてこの箱？」と、選んだ理由を聞いてみます。慣れたらルールを変え、同じおもちゃの別の特徴に注目してみましょう。
まずは色のルールで、ひとつのおもちゃを箱へ入れます。慣れたら形のしるしや種類のルールに変え、「今度は何を見ればいい？」と確かめます。見ている特徴が違うと、同じおもちゃでも分け方が変わる遊びです。
Sort toys by color, shape mark or kind. Each toy keeps its picture and circle, triangle or square mark when the rule changes. Try three different rooms with 6, 9 or 12 toys, and collect 27 challenge stamps and six decorations.
Choose one rule, such as color, and start with fewer toys. Select the sorting rule separately from the number of toys.
Ask why a toy belongs in its box. Then change the rule and look for a different feature of the same toy. Shape marks are labels on the toys, rather than the outline of the bear or ball.
Begin by putting one toy into a box by colour. Later switch to shape or kind and ask “What are we looking at now?” The same toy can belong in a different group when the feature changes.
